Senior Manager, Consulting Medical Affairs

3 days a week hybrid onsite (London)

PharmaPartners are currently supporting a global, life science consultancy seeking to appoint a Senior Manager to join its expanding team in its medical affairs practice. This opportunity is ideal for an experienced consulting professional who combines deep scientific expertise with strong leadership capabilities and a passion for delivering high-quality, client-focused solutions across the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries.

The successful candidate will play a critical role in leading client engagements, shaping strategic direction, developing scientifically rigorous deliverables, mentoring team members, and partnering cross-functionally to deliver integrated Medical Affairs strategies that enable successful brands from early development through launch and lifecycle management.

Responsibilities:

* Lead and oversee client engagements, providing senior scientific and strategic guidance across therapeutic areas

* Act as a trusted advisor to clients, building strong, long-term relationships and supporting key strategic objectives

* Manage, mentor, and develop junior team members, fostering a high-performance and collaborative team environment

* Ensure scientific and editorial excellence across all deliverables, maintaining the highest standards for accuracy, clarity, and compliance

* Oversee the development of a wide range of medical affairs materials, including medical education content, publications, scientific platforms, training resources, and congress materials

* Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Project Management, Analytics, and Strategy to deliver integrated and impactful client solutions

* Lead and contribute to business development activities, including proposal development, strategic input, and client pitches

* Identify opportunities to enhance processes, quality, and operational efficiency within the Medical Affairs service line

* Stay current on industry trends, evolving client needs, and best practices in medical affairs and scient

Requirements:

* Advanced degree in life sciences preferred (PhD, PharmD, or MSc for example)

* Several years' experience in medical affairs consulting or consulting in related fields to pharma/biotech

* Proven experience leading projects, managing client relationships, and delivering strategic medical affairs solutions

* Demonstrated leadership experience, including mentoring and developing team members

* Strong scientific acumen with exceptional attention to detail and commitment to quality

* Ability to manage multiple workstreams, lead teams, and operate effectively in a fast-paced environment

* Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills

* Strong sense of ownership and accountability for deliverables and client satisfaction

* Collaborative, proactive, and solutions-focused mindset with the ability to influence across functions
