(Senior) Medical Science Liaison – Rare Disease

Working within a newly built Medical Affairs team, this (Senior) Medical Science Liaison (MSL) will drive pre-launch/launch focused field medical activities for a Rare Renal Disease treatment. This will include a high level of proactive external engagement to establish our client’s presence within a new therapy area. It is essential that the successful candidate builds and maintains strong relationships with healthcare professionals across the territory and as a subject matter expert provides scientific support, training, and advice to cross functional teams internally.

This is a major new launch for the business and we can therefore only consider candidates with UK MSL experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Be the field medical expert in Rare Renal Disease
  • Identify and establish relationships with new HCPs and KOLs
  • Delivery of medical education, updates and gathering of insights form HCPs
  • Share relevant insights within medical and cross-functional teams
  • Support and deliver medical training of commercial field teams and colleagues as required
  • Identify opportunities for, and provide advice on Investigator Initiated Studies
  • Focus on patient outcomes, develop local guidelines to support the use of the company’s products
  • Ensure adherence to company SOPs and medial compliance
  • Work with office-based colleagues in Medical and Brand teams, as well as other field-based colleagues, to provide scientific support and education for the company’s products
  • Represent the business and medical team at local, regional and global congress and symposia

The Candidate:

  • University Degree level education in relevant scientific field, pharmacy or similar
  • Experience as an MSL in the UK life science industry is essential
  • Therapy area experience in Nephrology, Renal or Rare Diseases is preferred (but not essential)
  • Demonstrable experience in building and maintaining KOL relationships
  • Excellent scientific communication skills
  • Highly engaging, collaborative, and proactive mindset
