Senior Consultant/Manager – Consulting Medical Affairs

Pharma-Partners is supporting a leading consultancy with the continued growth of its Medical Affairs practice and is seeking to appoint a Senior Consultant/Managing Consultant to join its expanding team. This opportunity is ideal for an experienced medical affairs or medical communications professional who combines strong scientific expertise with emerging leadership skills and a passion for delivering high-quality, client-focused solutions across the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries.
The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting and leading client engagements, developing scientifically rigorous deliverables, mentoring junior colleagues, and partnering cross-functionally to deliver integrated Medical Affairs strategies that enable successful brands from early development through launch and lifecycle management
Responsibilities:
* Support and, where appropriate, lead client engagements by providing scientific input and strategic guidance across therapeutic areas
* Manage and mentor junior team members, supporting development, performance, and day-to-day delivery
* Ensure scientific and editorial excellence across all deliverables, maintaining high standards for accuracy, clarity, and compliance
* Develop a range of medical affairs materials including medical education content, training resources, publications, scientific platforms, and congress materials
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Project Management, Analytics, and Strategy to deliver integrated client solutions
* Support business development activities, including proposal development and participation in client pitches
* Identify opportunities to improve processes, quality, and operational efficiency within the Medical Affairs service line
* Stay current on industry trends, evolving client needs, and best practices in medical affairs and scientific communications
* Build strong, trusted client relationships by proactively addressing needs and supporting strategic objectives
* Contribute to internal initiatives that enhance collaboration, innovation, and service excellence
Requirements:
* Advanced degree in life sciences (PhD, PharmD, or MSc required)
* 4-6+ years’ experience in medical communications, medical affairs, scientific affairs, or related roles within pharma, biotech, or consulting
* Experience managing projects and mentoring junior team members in a fast-paced environment
* Strong scientific acumen with exceptional attention to detail and commitment to quality
* Ability to manage multiple workstreams and adapt to changing priorities
* Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills
* Demonstrated ownership of deliverables and accountability for client satisfaction
* Collaborative and solutions-focused mindset with the ability to work effectively across disciplines
* Interest in growing leadership capabilities and contributing to service line development
