UK Medical Affairs Manager

Pharma-Partners is working exclusively with a small Global pharmaceutical company to hire an affiliate Medical Affairs Manager to work across its varied product portfolio. This organisation has a presence in multiple different therapy areas, and has plans to bring brand new medicines to market in the next 2-4 years, primarily through new molecule and company acquisition.

This Medical Manager role will work very closely with the UK Managing Director locally, and coordinate local medical affairs activity with "above country" colleagues at a Regional/Global level. Within the affiliate you will provide medical and scientific support to Commercial & Marketing teams, and workflow oversight of Medical Information, Drug Safety, Quality, and Regulatory Affairs, with a view to taking on direct line management of these functions in the future.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implementation and execution of all medical affairs strategy for the UK
  • Provide quality scientific expertise to HCPs to support the appropriate use of this organisations' treatments
  • Foster long-lasting relationships with KOLs through medical education and scientific exchange, including sharing data from evidence generation programmes
  • Provide medical oversight to Patient Support Programmes
  • Attend relevant scientific congresses and events relevant to this organisations' product portfolio and pipeline
  • Support the UK Commercial team (Sales & Marketing) with high-quality therapy area product training
  • Act as the affiliate's ABPI Final Medical Signatory for all products, ensuring the utmost compliance with internal and external codes of practice and SOPs
  • Work with the Managing Director to contribute to Market Access strategy, including involvement in future HTA submissions

Candidate Profile:

  • GMC registered Physician or GPhC registered Pharmacist
  • Post-qualification experience in clinical medicine or clinical/retail pharmacy
  • Experience in head office medical affairs roles in the pharmaceutical industry
  • ABPI Final Medical Signatory status is required
  • Ability to work in a small structure with a relatively flat hierarchy, where you need to be proactive and seek resource rather than rely on delegation
  • Proven cross-functional worker, who is able to build strong relationships with colleagues in different functions with little support
