Pharma-Partners is working with a global pharmaceutical business to hire a physician in to a newly-created Medical Advisor role as part of a UK affiliate medical affairs team. This organisation is well established, with a headquarters in Switzerland and a product portfolio that spans a variety of different therapy areas ranging from Oncology to GI to Cardiology.

Working in a small medical affairs team you will take on an even balance of office and field-based activities for your assigned products, including engaging with Key Opinion Leaders and providing medical education to Sales and Commercial colleagues. This role will be busy from day one and by way of working in a smaller team, you can gain exposure to all parts of the company as well as build and own close relationships with both external and internal stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

  • Working closely with local medical and marketing colleagues as a medical resource for company products, those both marketed and in development
  • Act as a champion of the ABPI Code of Practice when reviewing promotional materials and medico-marketing copy
  • Attend medical and scientific conferences and meetings to maintain relationships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), Healthcare Professionals (HCPs), and regulatory groups
  • Supporting Investigator Initiated Studies  and the management of company-sponsored Phase IV clinical studies
  • Input in to content development for symposia, workshops and Advisory Boards
  • Provide medical support where needed to Drug Safety and Medical Information teams

Requirements:

  • Medically qualified (MBBS, MBChB, MD or equivalent)
  • Full GMC registration
  • Significant post-qualification experience in clinical medicine in the NHS or equivalent
  • Experience in medical affairs in industry is preferred, however if you’re working in clinical research or safety in pharma and looking for a move in to medical affairs then you can also be considered for this role
  • If not currently working in medical affairs, an understanding of the drug development process and the importance of the ABPI Code of Practice is essential
  • Ability to translate complex medical and scientific information in to digestible materials for commercially-driven colleagues
  • First rate communication skills i.e. being able to communicate effectively with people at different levels across different teams
