UK Medical Advisor - Oncology

Pharma-Partners is assisting a large Global pharmaceutical business with a new hire for its UK medical affairs team focused on Oncology. The UK affiliate is made of vastly experienced medical professionals across all therapeutic teams, not just Oncology, and would be a challenging and dynamic environment in which Medical Advisor could learn rapidly.

As part of a growing team, this Medical Advisor would be working in a high-profile part of the company looking to bring new Oncology drugs to market over the next few years. With these expected product launches, the Oncology portfolio will expand enormously and continue to be an important part of this company's future in the UK.

Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to providing medical input into commercial decision-making for marketed and pre-launch Oncology products
  • Help develop and maintain national relationships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), Healthcare Professionals (HCPs), and other external stakeholders
  • Provide efficient and ethical compliance guidance for all medical matters, in accordance with codes of practice (ABPI, IPHA) and internals SOPs
  • Work with wider affiliate functions such as Market Access, Regulatory Affairs, Drug Safety, and Medical Information, to support the medical management of marketed and pipeline Oncology products
  • Support senior medical affairs leaders, where appropriate deputising in internal cross-functional meetings and contributing to decision-making

Requirements:

  • Qualified physician (GMC registered)
  • Significant post-qualification experience in clinical medicine (NHS or equivalent)
  • A number of years experience in Oncology is required (ideally clinical specialisation)
  • Pharmaceutical industry experience is certainly preferred, though someone looking to join pharma for the first time can be considered if they're experienced in clinical Oncology
  • A clear and calm communicator
  • A confident presenter, who is not afraid to raise their hand and make suggestions
  • Someone happy to work outside of their job description at times, and roll their sleeves up for the benefit of the team
