UK Medical Advisor
Pharma-Partners is assisting a small well-established Global pharmaceutical business with a new hire for its UK medical affairs team. This UK medical affiliate team is made up of experienced medical professionals, and would be a challenging and dynamic environment in which Medical Advisor could learn rapidly.
You will work closely with commercial, regulatory, and market access colleagues to ensure medical & scientific expertise in shared and driven across the business.
Responsibilities include:
- Ensuring the development of medical plans & strategy is aligned with the business needs
- Developing working relationships and establishing external contacts with UK and Ireland therapy area experts (KOLs/KEEs), patient groups and professional bodies
- Project management and delivery of non-promotional tactics, including: medical education meetings, medical advisory boards, KOL/KEE meetings, non-promotional material creation (such as MSL resources, patient support items) and risk management plan materials
- Leading on non-promotional activities at scientific congresses, including: abstract submissions, educational symposia, insight gathering and post-conference debriefing to internal colleagues
- Generating data evidence to support the use of a product throughout its lifecycle, including management of Investigator Initiated Trial requests
- Supporting brand team members and business partners in co-promotional/co-development activities
- Researching, collating, presenting and offering expert opinion on scientific and medical information issues to support internal and external customers
- Ensuring that all information sources used for providing Medical Information are up to date and reviewed regularly
- Acting as medical reviewer on the internal copy approval system for all promotional and non-promotional material, in accordance with the ABPI & IPHA Code of Practice
- Participating and leading in company compliance training & process improvement
Requirements:
- Qualified physician or pharmacist (GMC/GPhC registered)
- Post-qualification experience in clinical medicine or clinical/retail pharmacy in the NHS or an equivalent setting
- Medical Affairs experience in the UK pharmaceutical industry is required
- ABPI Final Medical Signatory highly desirable, although candidates very close to achieving this can also be considered
- A confident communicator who can works in a changing cross-functional environment
- Someone who is up for a challenge and keen to learn quickly
