Senior Medical Director - Early Research
Pharma-Partners is working with an innovative pharmaceutical company to hire a Senior Medical Director to work in their Early Phase team. The role will be involved in all aspects of early drug development and be primarily accountable for delivering novel candidates through to proof of concept. Key to these success will be using your experience in identifying pre-clinical assets to take into development.
The opportunity is a newly created role and has arisen through ongoing expansion of the business. Under the guidance of an experienced Pharmaceutical Physician you will be involved across various strategic projects whilst providing support to the wider medical team and other business functions.
Responsibilities:
Provide medical expertise to projects in early stages of development
Successfully deliver novel candidates through to proof of concept
- Identify pre-clinical assets suitable for development
Provide clinical leadership for projects across Phase I & IIa
Work cross functionally with key teams to comprise the development plan and ensure high quality
Key figure in the design of overall early drug development strategy
Provide therapeutic expertise to other functions to achieve business goals
Develop and maintain relationships with KOLs relevant to existing pipeline and projects
Gather KOL insights and utilise study methodologies that can be applied to programs
Requirements:
Medically qualified (MBBS, MBChB, MD or equivalent) plus further post-graduate qualification (eg. PhD)
GMC registration
- Pharmaceutical industry clinical development experience
Therapeutic area experience from clinical medicine or industry in Immunology, Inflammation, Renal/Nephrology, Respiratory, Oncology (or related fields)
- Experience in study design
Experience in Translational Medicine, Phase I or IIa essential
Leadership qualities
Excellent communications skills
