Senior Medical Advisor/Associate Medical Director - Gene Therapy

Pharma-Partners is recruiting a Senior Medical Advisor/Associate Medical Director for a Gene Therapy biotech with a pipeline of treatments for patients suffering from various Rare Diseases. There is flexibility on the level of the role and is determined by the experience of the successful candidate.

Our client is looking to launch their first Gene Therapy treatment in the UK and this role will lead all associated Medical Affairs activities. As part of a small team and in this highly visible position you will have the opportunity to work closely with the Executive Medical Director and senior stakeholders across the UK&I business group.

Key responsibilities:

  • Provide scientific and medical expertise to colleagues across the business
  • Develop country specific strategic and tactical plans
  • Attend all relevant congresses, seminars, and internal meetings/training sessions
  • Establish and maintain relationships with KOLs to ensure effective communication of the clinical value of gene therapies
  • Effectively collaborate with other business functions
  • Lead research and data generation initiatives
  • Identify opportunities and suitable collaborators for IITs
  • Review and approve promotional/non-promotional materials in line with the ABPI Code
  • Deliver training to sales force and other departments

Candidate Requirements:

  • UK registered Medical Doctor (GMC)
  • Experience in the UK as a Medical Advisor/Senior Medical Advisor is essential
  • Final Signatory status is desirable (can be trained)
  • Therapy area experience in Rare Disease would be preferred but not essential
  • New product launch experience
  • Effective in communicating science and relationship management
