Our client, an established pharmaceutical business known for their work in a range of therapy areas, is seeking an experienced Medical Affairs professional to join their Oncology team. The current portfolio and robust pipeline includes both solid tumour Oncology and Haematology treatments.

In this role you will be responsible for launch activities for their new Lung Cancer drug. This includes collaborating with Market Access on HTA submissions, working with global teams to align medical plans and marketing on brand strategy, and liaise with field based colleagues on external engagement activities.

This is a critical time for the business and the successful candidate is set to play a key role in shaping their future in the Oncology space. This opportunity is suitable for a current Medical Advisor/Manager (or eq.)

Responsibilities

  • Play a leading role in the Oncology Medical Affairs team
  • Liaise with global teams to ensure medical plan alignment
  • Work with the Head of Medical Affairs on medical strategy
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key experts and provide them with relevant medical and scientific information
  • Act as point of contact for clinicians and KOLs
  • Establish and maintain cross functional relationships between Medical Affairs and Market Access, Marketing, and Commercial colleagues
  • Provide Medical Affairs support to Market Access teams in support of evidence generation activities and preparation of HTA submissions
  • Coaching and mentoring of team to ensure effective performance
  • Co-working with marketing colleagues to support approval and development of compliant ABPI activities and materials
  • Maintain a high level of scientific and medical knowledge through literature review and attendance of conferences
  • Responsibility for the delivery of scientific and medical content for advisory board as well as chairing / co-chairing

Candidate requirements

  • GMC registered physician or GPhC registered Pharmacist preferred (If PhD candidate must have substantial Medical Affairs and Oncology experience)
  • UK Medical Affairs experience required
  • Ideally an ABPI Final Signatory
  • Experience within Oncology or Haematology is essential (Rare Disease experience would also be considered)
  • Previous launch experience beneficial
