Medical Science Liaison (MSL) - GI - Midlands
Our client is a global pharmaceutical business with a history of work in the Immunology space. They are seeking a MSL to join their field based medical team to cover the Midlands. The position reports into an MSL Manager and the UK & Ireland medical affairs team is led by an experienced Country Medical Director.
In the role you will work on 3 products across our client's GI portfolio which includes a blockbuster drug and a stem cell therapy treatment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Providing scientific expertise and technical support to Key Opinion Leaders, ensuring the maintenance of credible and ethical relationships which allows them to access up-to-date medical and scientific information
- Sharing of relevant insights within medical and cross-functional teams
- Identify opportunities for, and provide advice on Investigator Initiated Studies
- Focusing on patient outcomes, develop local guidelines to support the use of the company's Haematology product
- Helping to identify and establish relationships with new HCPs and KOLs across the assigned region
- Ensuring adherence to company SOPs and medial compliance
- Working with office-based colleagues in Medical and Brand teams, as well as other field-based colleagues, to provide scientific support and education for the company's products
- Representing the business and medical team at local, regional and global congress and symposia
The Candidate:
- Education in relevant scientific field
- Experience as an MSL within the life science industry is required
- Therapy area experience is not required but would be beneficial
- Knowledge of medical compliance and appropriate codes of practice
- Demonstrable experience in managing key internal and external relationships
- Effectively assimilate scientific and clinical data to the relevant audience
- Understanding of the UK healthcare space
