UK & Ireland Medical Information Manager & Local Safety Officer

Pharma-Partners is working with a European pharmaceutical business to hire a Medical Information Manager & Local Safety Officer for their UK & Ireland Medical Affairs team.

This is a standalone role that will lead on all local Medical Information (MI) and Pharmacovigilance (PV) activities and require strong cross functional working relationships with Marketing and Medical Affairs. You'll share insights with global colleagues and work closely with both the Global Medical Information team and Head of Drug Safety/EU QPPV. This is a very accountable role with responsibility for overall MI & PV strategy, budgets, SOPs, and will manage the vendors. This position also offers the opportunity to be involved in the Copy Approval process and for UK registered Pharmacists/Physicians there's scope to be trained into a Final Signatory if not already.

Our client has a specialised portfolio and pipeline within the Immunology space, which includes recent and upcoming launches of Biologics, and the goal of acquiring new products over the coming years.


  • Lead, develop and manage the UK & Ireland Medical Information services
  • Align strategy to PIPA guidelines
  • Ensure provision of accurate Medical Information to external and internal customers
  • Partner with Brand team and other business functions as required
  • Developed an manage the UK & Ireland PV function
  • Act as National Contact Person for PV with the MHRA
  • Lead and manage relationship with vendors/third parties
  • Support review and approval activities of materials (Final Signatory duties if appropriate)
  • Adhere to ABPI Code

Candidate Requirements:

  • Relevant medical sciences degree
  • Several years of experience in Medical Information in the UK is essential
  • Experience in both MI and PV strongly preferred
  • Experienced in managing third parties/vendors in MI and/or PV
  • Working knowledge of the ABPI Code of Practice
  • Good project management experience
  • Strong communication skills

Salary & Remuneration:

  • Competitive annual basic salary plus benefits package on top to include £8,400 car allowance and 15% annual bonus
