Medical Director Clinical Research - Immuno-Oncology

Pharma-Partners is supporting an established pharmaceutical business take their first steps into Oncology. Having achieved blockbuster status for marketed drugs in other therapeutic areas our client has invested in the pre-clinical research of Immuno-Oncology compounds. They have now reached the point to take selected molecules into Phase I trials and in doing so are looking for an experienced early phase Research Physician with expertise in Oncology drug development to join the team and take a lead on discovery medicine activities.

This is a UK based opportunity with good flexibility to work from home.

Responsibilities:

  • Providing clinical leadership throughout the progression of Oncology targets through to proof of concept
  • Recruit and line manage team Oncology development team as required
  • Partake in candidate selection for early development
  • Devise and execute clinical plan for discovery medicine activities
  • Support other business functions as therapeutic expert for Oncology as required
  • Provide clinical input for regulatory and licensing opportunities
  • Be the study physician for Phase I-IIa and Translational Medicine studies
  • Maintain KOL network

Candidate requirements:

  • Registered medical doctor preferably with a PhD or post graduate qualification
  • Clinical and/or pharmaceutical industry experience in Oncology (board certification highly desirable)
  • Phase I or IIa drug development experience from industry roles is essential
  • Demonstrable leadership qualities
  • Effective communicator capable of managing a range of key stakeholders
