Our client, a leading medical communications company is seeking an experienced medical affairs professional to join the business in a newly created position. This organisation brings together excellent clinical insights, scientific expertise and creative thinking to tailor services to clients. If you are a commercially minded, medical affairs expert looking to work on a variety of exciting projects, this role is tailored for you.

In this position you will be responsible for providing medical leadership to multiple cross functional teams, provide strategic medical and commercial input into the senior leadership team and liaise with a variety of internal and external stakeholders. It is a critical time for the business and the successful candidate is set to play a key role in shaping their future.

 

Responsibilities

·       To be able to provide medical insights into ongoing projects, business development initiatives and collaborate closely with the senior leadership team regarding strategy

·       To provide scientific input into multiple ongoing projects

·       To work closely with creative writers and account teams to ensure compliance with medical and industry ethical codes of practice and regulations

·       To develop and share best practice and up to date medical knowledge with the wider business

·       To ensure that the needs of multiple stakeholders (patients, HCPs, and/or healthcare systems) are at the forefront in the outputs of all projects under your management

·       To work with the medical affairs team and colleagues to engender a culture of ‘patient first’ thinking in line with the needs of clients with the account teams

·       To provide account teams with insights as to the particular medical challenges and needs of clients with specific projects

 

Candidate requirements

·       GMC registered physician or GPhC registered Pharmacist preferred (If PhD candidate must have substantial Medical Affairs/commercial experience)

·       Pharmaceutical industry experience within medical affairs

·       A solid understanding of the ABPI and other regulatory processes

·       Able to present and communicate to a variety of stakeholders
