Medical Affairs Manager – UK & Global

Pharma-Partners is representing a small well-established Global pharmaceutical company, which is looking to hire an experienced medical affairs physician or pharmacist. This role will focus on an established and high-profile product area, with significant responsibility for Global medical affairs projects as well as day-to-day UK activities.

Reporting into the Global Medical Director for this therapy area, you will work in a hybrid position that balances local and “above country” activities, taking the lead on KEE engagement strategizing and executing appropriate medical affairs plans.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Partner with Marketing colleagues to ensure and smooth and efficient implementation of a sound medical affairs plan for this therapy area
  • Attend relevant UK and Global medical strategy meetings, working with cross-functional teams to provide appropriate country-level medical insight and information as required
  • Participate in the development and execution of Global medical team meetings
  • For the UK, act as a champion of the ABPI Code of Practice and lead on Final Medical Signatory activities
  • Also provide timely and effective review of Global promotional materials
  • Build and develop relationships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) through personalised meetings, as well as congresses and symposia
  • Lead on assigned Global projects, as well as evaluating potential projects in collaboration with relevant stakeholders such as Global compliance, legal, and regulatory affairs
  • Provide efficient and effective global review of promotional materials

Candidate Profile:

  • GMC registered Physician or GPhC registered Pharmacist
  • Post-qualification experience in clinical medicine or clinical pharmacy (NHS or equivalent)
  • Experienced medical affairs professional, most likely currently working as a Medical Advisor, or similar
  • ABPI Final Medical Signatory status is critical
  • Global or Regional medical affairs experience is not required, but it would be good to have some demonstrable examples of ad hoc exposure to “above country” projects or colleagues
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision day-to-day, and act on the front foot in decision-making
