Medical Affairs Manager - Northern Europe

Pharma-Partners is working with a well established small-to-mid sized global pharmaceutical company to recruit an important regional role based from the UK. This organisation has an established product portfolio, with an exciting monoclonal antibody launch in a competitive therapy area.

Reporting to an experienced European Medical Director, you will act as the medical affairs lead for your assigned marketed products as well as take on increasing medical leadership of pre-launch responsibility for this company's next product launch. This company operates a lean medical structure, where everyone is highly visible with strategic not just operational levels of responsibility.

Responsibilities:

  • Be the medical driver for medico-marketing planning and strategic decision-making, working collaboratively with Brand Managers and the commercial leadership team
  • Lead on the on-going development and maintenance of KOL and HCP networks in relation to your assigned products, including pre-launch mapping and market interaction
  • Management of compliance for promotional materials in line with regulations such as the ABPI Code of Practice, including supporting other departments with compliance adherence
  • Provide functional guidance and in some cases mentoring to the field-based MSL team
  • Attend therapeutically aligned conferences and scientific meetings to ensure engagement with senior external stakeholders
  • Lead the reaction to escalated medical information enquiries where required
  • Work with global colleagues to gain approval for Phase IV and Investigator Initiated Studies (IIS's) to fit in line with country-specific marketing needs

Requirements:

  • Relevant scientific / medical qualification (e.g. PhD Scientist or Medical Doctor or Qualified Pharmacist)
  • Experience in medical affairs in pharmaceutical medicine is essential
  • Strategic experience delivering medical plans
  • Product launch experience
  • Direct experience engaging with KOLs/HCPs for a product or therapy area, as well as supporting field-based colleagues and scientific affairs colleagues in a matrix structure
  • Experience of working with the ABPI Code of Practice
  • Experience working collaboratively with global counterparts is preferred, though this could be your first 'above country' role if you've worked in a UK/Ire affiliate so far
  • A proactive communicator who is comfortable managing high profile internal relationships with commercial colleagues, and other departmental leaders
