Global Medical Director

Pharma-Partners are currently supporting a specialist pharmaceutical company to hire a Global Medical Director.

The role of the Global Medical Director is a significant leadership position within the business. As part of the leadership committee this role is a very autonomous, highly visible position, it will have senior interactions on a day to day basis with several cross functional units and will manage a team of direct and indirect reports in multiple regions. The incumbent will continually drive the delivery of high quality scientific, medical and strategic information for products globally. The Global Medical Director will be a leader within the business adding valuable medical input into areas such as Regulatory, Quality, Pharmacovigilance and Commercial.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring the planning and execution of Medical strategy that addresses current and future needs of the business
  • Act as a leader within the global organisation, building confidence and credibility in the medical function amongst key stakeholders
  • Be able to provide medical insights contributing to pipeline growth, due diligence and portfolio development
  • Provide a clear geographic expansion plan for the medical function based on the company's product pipeline and activity
  • Making sure the business maintains a status of compliance with affiliate and international codes and regulations relevant to the markets in which the business operates
  • Leading, developing and building a high performing, fully integrated Medical function

Candidate Requirements:

  • Medical degree with GMC registration
  • Substantial experience with a leading international life science company within the biopharmaceutical/pharmaceutical industry
  • Experience in communicating and building relations with authorities, health care sector professionals including specialist care, as well as KOL management
  • Managed medical functions on a global scale
  • Worked ideally in CNS/Neuroscience/Psychiatry or related therapeutic area's

Salary & Remuneration:
